1890's Hotels Along Fourth Street in Minneapolis

One of the nicer hotels, the Parker House Hotel (13 1/2 South Fourth Street), is a very reasonable place to stay.  Don’t let the recent morphine overdose color your decision on staying there, it could mean a newly vacated room at a good rate.

If you have no morals or simply if morality is not a big issue to you, you may want to consider Madame Lloyd’s Hotel (126 South Fourth Street).  It is not a traditional hotel in every sense, but its primary purpose is that of a busy brothel.  Those travelers looking forward to a quiet night’s sleep may be inconvenienced by noise complaints.

If you arrive with only the clothes on your back, the Davis Boarding House (208 South Fourth Street) may not accept you as a guest.   The reason is not necessarily that you appear indigent, but rather the place makes a good deal of its ill-gotten profits by stealing guests’ clothing and reselling it.
