Hotels along Sixth Street in St. Paul in the 1890s

Hotels Along Sixth Street

In this video, visitors are warned about the repercussions of botched suicides in hotels during the holiday season. They may also learn about questionable hack drivers at the Union Depot who are known to provide newly arriving travelers with prostitutes on the way to the hotel and the risks involved in doing this. Both of these incidents occurred at the Globe Hotel (260 East Sixth Street).

Another story in the video involves a cheap room opening up at the People’s Hotel (223 East Sixth Street) (note that the hanging of the earlier guest was not technically done in the hotel room itself).
