Hotels Along Wall Street

Formerly Rosabel Street

Wall Street was once named Rosabel Street. Whatever the name of the street, prospective guests are cautioned against drinking too much and sitting on hotel windowsills at the Union Hotel (332 Wall Street) in the warmer weather. Although, at the time, it may have seemed like a reasonable way to cool off in the summer months, this form of loafing can have fatal results.

Drinking excessively is not a good remedy for recuperating from the flu as one guest at the Duluth Hotel (356 Wall Street) discovered after his arrest.

There was significant unrest at the Laborers’ Rest Lodging House (364 Wall Street) resulting in a highly publicized murder in the lobby.

A guest at the Rising Sun Hotel (373 Wall Street) did not rise the next morning due to drinking wolf-killer.

Saving money on lodging by sharing a room at the Christiana Hotel (408 Wall Street) does not always pay off for honest guests.

Although there have been several arsons in Lowertown, firebugs only burned down the barn behind the Minnesota Hotel (415 Wall Street) and no guests sleeping in the hotel itself were inconvenienced.
